ie ie productions was founded in 2005 by Catryn Ramasut and Gruff Rhys to produce Separado! their award winning debut feature documentary.
Since the international release of this highly acclaimed film in 2010, the company has gone on to produce documentary commissions O Nefyn i Nairobi (2012) and Super Furry Animals: The Furry Years (2015) for the Welsh broadcaster S4C.
In 2014 ie ie productions released the innovative and groundbreaking, multi platform project American Interior (an award winning feature length documentary film, an award nominated album/soundtrack, an award nominated book, an app and a website), propelling the company forward into a period of expansion and new project development.
We are a young, progressive bi-lingual production company who produce thought provoking, creative and challenging ‘cultural’ productions.
Documentaries, features, cross art and animation are key to the ethos and the inspiration behind ie ie productions, which aims:
-to produce films and programmes that inform, educate and stimulate an audience of increasingly sophisticated and demanding media users, that encourages expansion of global perspectives
-to produce innovative and experimental multiplatform productions which push the boundaries of creativity and technology but with storytelling firmly at their core
-to nurture and develop Welsh talent (focusing but not exclusively on women) and provide a platform for their creations on an international scale
-to introduce new ways of presenting music without compromising the creative rigour of the music
ie ie productions is supported by the BFI’s Vision Awards
